When buildings already exist, accessing them in order to assess them or to preserve them frequently requires the use of aerial booms and scissor lifts. Many building professionals who require these devices in order to complete their work have little or no training in their safe use.  Our area preservation community has been affected in recent years by several incidents showing what can go wrong in the operation of this equipment; we hope to increase the knowledge of our community in the safe operation of these devices.  Space is very limited in order to ensure the highest quality of the experience.

This hands on course includes trainee certification cards and literature and covers mandatory training per 1926.453 for the operation of Aerial Work Platfonns,
Articulating Booms, Telescopic Booms and Trailer Mounted Booms. Using classroom discussion,
video instruction and hands-on operator performance evaluation. Training will include:
OSHA regulatory guidelines
Manual of Responsibilities
Safe operating procedures
Equipment maintenance
Operators' Manual review
Pre-operation inspection
Function tests
Personal fall arrest system inspections, care, and use
Hazard awareness

Bob Kelley, the instructor for this course, is an OSHA Authorized Trainer, with experience in asphalt, mining, and road and bridge safety.  He is a recognized safety expert and aerial lift trainer for various Unions and many of the major general contractors in the Delaware Valley.  He makes regular appearance before OSHA in New Jersey and Pennsylvania as safety expert on OSHA citations.
